Join the Monterrey Summer Opera Academy (MSOA) in one of the most important cities in Latin America: Monterrey, Mexico. MSOA gathers international faculty to prepare talented singers as they embark on a professional career.
3 weeks of performances, masterclasses, private lessons, coaching, video & audio, mock audition, and a FULL PRODUCTION of Puccini's La Bohème (2 Casts)!

ACADEMY INFO
Young Artists: Up to 8 spots. Young Artists comprise the Cast A of Puccini's La Bohème, full orchestra production. Conducted by maestro Felipe Tristán. Additionally, Young Artists have the opportunity to work directly with the renowned Mezzo-Soprano, Dolora Zajick in a series of Masterclasses and private lessons. Additionally, Young Artists perform in the Aria Concert.
Studio Artists: Up to 8 spots. Studio Artists comprise the Cast B of Puccini's La Bohème, full orchestra production. Conducted by maestro Felipe Tristán. Studio Artists receive instruction (private lessons & coaching) from the MSOA faculty. Also, if time allows, select Studio Artists may have the opportunity to work directly with the renowned Mezzo-Soprano, Dolora Zajick, in a series of Masterclasses and/or private lessons. Additionally, Studio Artists perform in the Aria Concert.
Young Artists & Studio Artists prepare and perform either an aria, an ensemble, or both at the Aria Concert at a local theater.

All academic activities and rehearsals will be held in Monterrey.

2 performances - Full orchestra production of Puccini's La Bohème (Cast A & Cast B) will be presented in the Teatro de la Ciudad de Monterrey. One performance per cast.

Young Artists & Studio Artists prepare and perform either an aria, an ensemble, or both at the Aria Concert at a local theater.
PREPARATION - BOTH CASTS
All singers must come thoroughly prepared and with the music already memorized (Puccini's La Bohème), off-book, from the first rehearsal.
OUTREACH & COMMUNITY
If time allows, there may be additional informal performance opportunities within Monterrey, during the time of the Academy and to be arranged directly with the faculty. To be announced.
PROFESSIONAL VIDEO & AUDIO
All participants receive professional video & audio recordings of all performances. All recordings are included in the tuition cost and will be sent to participants within 6 to 8 weeks after the end of the academy.
PROFESSIONAL PHOTOSHOOT
All participants participate in a photoshoot that will include group & individual portrait shots.
HOUSING
3-star Hotel included in the tuition. Double occupancy rooms.
TRAVEL
All travel arrangements to and from Monterrey are the sole responsibility of every participant; international or Mexican national. Fly to the airport MTY.

MSOA has institutional support from the state of Nuevo Leon’s Council for the Arts (Conarte) and Teatro Grattacielo in NY.
